A week after the Scottish Championships and the Band was in action again, this time at the Dumfries Music Festival. Playing the test piece from last week along with 2 other pieces, the Band was able to pick up the victory in the class along with some good feedback from the adjudicator.
The Band recently competed in the 4th Section of the Scottish Brass Band Championships yesterday and finished a very respectable 6th out of 13. After a year away from competing everyone involved with the band was very happy with the result. The Band would like to thank everyone who helped the Band prepare for the contest and we are already looking forward to next year!
Our events list for the Festive period has been updated in our Upcoming Events section. Check it out here.

In the past few years the Band have had a few members leave the area and join the military playing in various Bands. In the past couple of days we have heard of some of these players being assigned to new Bands!
To begin with, current Principal Euphonium Jordan Tweedie has joined The Band of The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers and will be playing both Trombone and Euphonium with them.
Former Cornet player Margaret Pattie will be joining The Band of The King's Division after finishing at the Royal Military School of Music.
Finally, former Cornet player Finlay McCall will be joining The Band of Her Majesty's Royal Marines Collingwood, in January.
Congratulations to all 3 and best wishes for the future from all at Dumfries Town Band.
